What Glycine Is

Glycine is the smallest and simplest amino acid. A 2019 study in the Journal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle examined glycine supplementation in older adults and found significant improvements in muscle function and physical performance, consistent with glycine's role in muscle protein metabolism. Research on glycine's anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects via its contribution to glutathione synthesis gives it a mechanistic role in supporting the cellular repair processes that are active during rapid body recomposition.
